Find the cheapest gas deal for your home. Choose your gas network area, tell us your usage or what you spend, and we'll rank the tariffs we've checked, cheapest first.

How much gas do you use?
We'll use a rough guide for a home like yours.
Any number. Use the kWh figure on your gas bill or annual statement (your meter counts cubic metres; your bill converts it to kWh).
We need your current prices to work out how much gas your spending buys.
We don't have firmus energy's prices yet, so please type yours below.
We don't have SSE Airtricity's prices yet, so please type yours below.

On your bill, look for the unit rate (pence per kWh) and the standing charge (pence per day). On keypad or pay as you go? Your supplier's website or app shows them.

This is an estimate. Top-ups can include debt repayments or emergency credit, and Direct Debits are often averaged, so your real usage may be different.

Choose your gas network area

Gas suppliers in Northern Ireland can only supply certain network areas. Your gas bill shows which one you're in. We won't guess.

How we find the cheapest gas for you

We only show tariffs available in your gas network area, then work out a yearly cost for each using your usage: the unit rate for each kWh, plus the standing charge, minus any discount or credit. The cheapest overall comes first.

Every price shows the date our team checked it. The supplier always confirms your final price.

Questions, answered

What are the gas network areas in Northern Ireland?

Northern Ireland's gas network is split into three areas: Greater Belfast, the Ten Towns and the West. Your gas bill shows which one you're in, and which suppliers you can choose depends on your area.

Which gas suppliers can I choose?

It depends on your area. In Greater Belfast you can choose between SSE Airtricity and firmus energy. Choose your area above and we'll only show tariffs available there.

Is gas charged per kWh?

Yes. Your meter measures gas in cubic metres, but your bill converts it to kWh and tariffs are priced per kWh. Use the kWh figure on your bill or annual statement.

How do I switch gas supplier in Northern Ireland?

Compare tariffs here, choose the one you want and sign up with that supplier. The new supplier arranges the switch with your current one. If you're on a fixed contract, check for an exit fee first, and have a recent meter reading ready.

Does the GB energy price cap apply in Northern Ireland?

No. Northern Ireland has its own energy market, regulated by the Utility Regulator, so the Ofgem price cap used in England, Scotland and Wales doesn't apply here. That's why NI prices need an NI comparison.

Estimates are a guide, worked out from the prices we've checked and the details you entered. The supplier confirms your final price and whether you're eligible.
